Lead a small group of settlers and build a city in the wild lands on the edge of the known world. Gather resources, hunt, fish, and farm. Provide people with basic necessities, as well as weapons and armor. Fight the elements and repel enemy attacks (for those who don't like fighting, the game has a peaceful mode).

  • Mine, Grow, Craft.  Mine 14 different raw materials: wood, stone, clay, metal ore, herbs, honey, and more. Harvest 17 types of food, including wild berries, fish, and game, as well as 10 different crops. Craft 32 types of items and materials in a multi-tiered economy.
  • Build and grow.  There are over 50 different buildings available. Start with a modest settlement and turn it into a bustling city. As your settlement prospers, it will attract new residents, and the city center and housing will go through several stages of development. Upgrade production buildings to increase their efficiency and be able to create more complex items.
  • Developed agricultural system.  Choose from 10 types of crops with different characteristics and organize crop rotation to maintain soil fertility, not to lose the harvest due to drought or frost and to prevent plant diseases. Cultivate fields, remove weeds and stones, increase fertility and regulate the composition of the soil to get the maximum harvest and feed the population.
  • Advanced city simulation.  Settlers live their lives and perform their work in real time. You can watch them carry raw materials from distant mines to the city for processing and crafting; deliver food and manufactured items to dwellings and shops - or to warehouses for storage. Develop a road network, build wagons and improve storage methods to optimize the movement of goods and prevent their spoilage.
  • Random Maps:  Farthest Frontier is replayable, with randomly generated terrain and resources making each game unique. Players can adjust the amount of water and mountains in the terrain to create incredible maps that are challenging in their own right.
  • Idyll or chaos.  Adjustable difficulty settings allow you to create
play a calm game without invasions and epidemics - or set the maximum difficulty, which will become a serious test even for the most experienced city planner.
  • Interact with the environment.  Develop an economy based on the raw materials available to you, and produce goods to exchange for the resources you lack. Build fences to prevent deer from trampling your fields and bears from reaching your food cellars. Place wells in the shade of trees to prevent them from drying out. Clear land for agricultural plantings, but try to preserve important wild resources such as berries and medicinal herbs.
  • Good old disease!  Provide your settlers with clean drinking water to avoid outbreaks of dysentery and cholera. Pick berries and plant vegetables to provide them with a varied diet and protect them from scurvy. Make sure they are clothed and shod to reduce the risk of tetanus, rabies, or the common cold. Build a healer's hut to isolate the sick and provide them with herbs and medicine. And don't forget about rodents, who carry the dreaded bubonic plague - dispose of garbage, store food securely, and employ the services of rat catchers.
  • Repel invasions.  You can start the game in peaceful mode, and then you won’t have to fight at all, or choose a suitable difficulty level, at which the city will be attacked by raiders. Build wooden palisades and stone walls, erect towers and barracks, hire and equip soldiers who will defend the city. The richer your settlement becomes, the more often the greedy gaze of bandits and foreign armies will fall on it.
